When a vehicle finishes its service with us, it goes out by open tender.
BNBM PNG runs a fleet of more than two hundred vehicles supplying thirteen branches. As that fleet is renewed, the vehicles being replaced are offered for sale. Office and IT equipment being retired — computers, printers, furniture — is offered the same way.
Nothing is priced on this website. Each release is published as a list of what is available and where it can be inspected; you decide what it is worth to you and submit an offer.
Five steps, the same for everyone.
An open process is the point. Everyone who registers gets the same list, the same inspection window and the same closing date.
Register your interest
Tell us what you are interested in — vehicles, plant or equipment — and which province suits you. We add you to the notification list for the next release.
Receive the list
When a release opens you receive the asset list: make and model, class, year, the branch holding it, odometer or hours where we have them, whether registration and the RTA inspection are current, and the condition as we describe it. We do not publish what an asset cost us or what it is carried at in our books — you bid what it is worth to you.
Inspect
Inspection is at the branch holding the asset, during the published window. Come and look, or send someone who knows what to look for. What you see is what is sold.
Submit your offer
One written offer per asset, by the closing date, on the form issued with the list. Late offers are not considered.
Outcome and handover
Offers are evaluated together after the closing date and the result is confirmed in writing to everyone who bid. Payment is by bank transfer to the company account shown on the invoice — never to an individual.
Read these before you bid.
Sold as inspected. Every asset is sold in the condition it is in on the day, with no warranty, no roadworthy guarantee and no undertaking about fitness for any purpose. We describe what we know; you satisfy yourself by inspecting.
Transfer and registration are the buyer's. You arrange transfer of ownership, registration and insurance, and you pay the associated fees.
Removal is the buyer's. Assets are collected from the branch holding them, within the period stated in the release.
Payment before release. Assets are handed over once payment has cleared to the company bank account named on the invoice.
Get on the list for the next release.
Tell us what you are looking for and where you are. There is no obligation and no charge to be on the notification list.
To be confirmed before this page goes public: this page describes the process but no release is open yet. The company already runs an internal fixed-asset disposal approval, so the missing pieces are the outward facing ones: which approved assets go in the first release, inspection locations and windows, closing dates, the offer form, and whether GST applies to these sales. The five steps above are our proposal, not company policy, until they are signed off. Asset listings must never carry the custodian's name, the purchase price or the book value — those stay in the internal ledger.
